Minecraft (as of 1.7.3) 8/31/11
Hello everybody, first review in months, so I might be a little (a lot) rusty so beat with me please. I had a minecraft review months ago but It was based on hate and jealousy. Months ago I was running on a laptop that was older than the dinosaurs, I would be lucky to get 8 fps (if it even opened). So I blamed the game for my computer's problems. Anyway, enough about me, you came to hear about Minecraft right?
Let me say that Minecraft is definitely in my top 5 games already and it isn't even finished. The full game is set for a release of November 11th 2011, (same as skyrim!). So the fact that it is that amazing already is just...awe inspiring. So are you wondering what the hell I am babbling about, pay attention.
Minecraft is an indie game that is in beta, it has been released to the public for $20, or you can play creative for free. Now at first glance you will say something along the lines of “whoa it's legos evolved”. Well that is basically what creative is. It is a good way to see if Minecraft is your style though. In creative mode, there are many different blocks, with different textures (different uses in beta mode). In creative mode, you have unlimited of each of the blocks available in creative (a mere fraction of those in beta). You can build whatever you feel like. So if this is your style, head to minecraft.net and check it out.
Now for the beta, take everything you know about minecraft, and flush it down the toilet. The only thing the same is that everything is blocky. In this mode, you start with nothing except the hands on your arms (wait what?). You must find supplies to make tools. Find some trees and take the wood, create a sword,a pickaxe, shovel or make a starter home to protect you from the mobs (more about them later). The wooden tools are the worst of the worst. But it allows you to harvest stone, which becomes cobblestone. This is your main tools for the first few days in minecraft. Each block has it's own strengths, and weaknesses. Gold is more valuable than stone. Diamond is more valuable that gold (you know the deal).
As you hopefully know, Minecraft has it's own day/night cycle. In the night, monsters come out, so a little info on the mobs.
Skeltons are these creatures that are weak but attack from a range with bows. Zombies are the most popular, they are solid and slow. They do a moderate amount of melee damage. And creepers... these foul beasts that sneak up behind you, all you hear is a SSSSSSS noise, than an explosion.
The absolute best part of minecraft is that you can make whatever the hell is in your sick minds. Want aladdin to hump a smurf? Then help yourself, your imagination is the limit. The ability to make your dream homes is a important (in not the most) feeling of the game.
The community content is also breath taking. Change how you look, how all the blocks look and almost everything else. The amount of mods is also awe inspiring, my Minecraft blog has all info on that.
Now what keeps this from a 5/5? mainly the fact of the multiplayer. It works and is innovative but it needs work, having to manually type in the IP gets boring fast. And random server crashes don't help either.
Anyhoo if you want more Minecraft information, then head on over to my blog all about Minecraft.
I don't take any rights to this game-this amazing game was made by Notch.

It's good to be back
Man have I missed this place, it is so dead but I shall bring it back. I haven't been here since March (has it been that long?) due in part to the fact that my computer exploded. Not literally but the cord caught on fire and the battery shorted out. So I am on my NEW laptop.
*Boring Specs*
6gb ram
750gb hard drive
Nvidia 550 graphics
Dell Xps
Badass speakers
I5 duo core processors
* End of Boring Specs*
So I have great news! Not only am I back in action... reviewing EVERY game that dares to let me play it, but I will be reviewing steam games and online games (woot!) I will still review some xbox games but my focus has changed.
If you are still here after all these months then props to you guys.

Mass Effect 2 Review part 1
I traded in a few of my old xbox games at Gamestop and only got $25 store credit so I got Mass Effect 2 and didn't know what to expect, well it was like dropping a nickel and finding a quarter. In one word, breathtaking.
I was a bit confused by the story since i haven't played the first one, but I quickly caught on to the intriguing story and was fascinated by the vast Universe and characters. The story is a simple Science-Fiction plot but the way it is served makes it fresh and new. Hundreds of years into the future and humans have gone into space and colonized planets, they have met aliens and made peace and been accepted into their society. Aliens are a very old concept but the way they are introduced into the Universe is very clever and add the fan lore of the Canon.
There are many races in the Universe but a few have maintained dominance over the lesser races. The Asari are a race of blue, all-female aliens that are highly intelligent and reproduce asexually. They were the first species to discover the Citadel, the head-quarters of all alien species where they hold civil discussions. These decisions are made by the council (similar to a congress) and affect many organisms.
The Turians are another member of the council, they can be diplomatic but are very hostile sometimes. They are the head of the military and are built for combat.
The Salariansare a hyper breed that are members of the council and are the scientific race. They live very short life spans (25-30) but are very hyper and speak fast.
There are other species that play a more minor role (Krogans,Quarians and Drell) along with many more.
The story is that of Commander Shepard, a Alliance commander. The Alliance is humanity's defense. Shepard saved the world from the Reapers, a species of giant machines that destroyed everything they saw in their paths. Several years after Mass Effect 1 you are on your space ship, the Normandy when it is attacked by unknown attackers and destroyed. Shepard saves as many lives as possible but is mortally wounded when running to the escape pods. This is where Mass Effect 2 starts
PART 2 SOON!

Minecraft
Like most people I was very doubt full when I first tried to classic mode but I was immediately shocked at how fun something so simple could be. The concept seems boring but it is actually fun and innovative. The game is based on Ifiniminer (hence the MINEcraft)
The classic mode is very simple where you left click on a block and it is deleted and if you right click on a block, the block you have selected in your inventory is placed and you can build some VERY interesting things with this tool.
If you make an account and pay $20 you can play the BETA because Minecraft is still not finished and is an ongoing project. If you buy it now you get the game when it is released for free.
This is much different from classic. You can make tools out of materials you can find and the amount of things you can craft are vast, but the amount of things you can create with these tools is endless.

Bulletstorm
Bulletstorm had a fun campaign and was very innovative.
This is diffenitely a game you want to borrow or rent because once you finish the campaign there is not much else to do except play on a harder difficulty.
A fun game alotgether
